Who else is in the process of decorating their house for Christmas? Are you looking for more ways to incorporate cupcakes into your holiday decor? Well then if you are I have found just the thing for you.
Santa and Snowman Cupcake Christmas Stocking Holder from Trendy Tree
I have to say that Trendy Tree has some of the coolest Christmas decorations and such that I have ever seen, including tons of Cupcake Ornaments. What is your favorite Christmas decoration, cupcake or otherwise that you have up for the holidays?
Bird Craft: Party Supplies and Printable Fun! offers a tutorial on how to make these easy paper cupcake stands. All you need to do is download the template from her website and follow these three easy steps:
1. Print your template onto patterned cardstock or print onto standard A4 paper and transfer it to a material of your choice later – You can use MDF, cardboard, polystyrene sheets, coloured cardstock etc…
2. Then cut the parts and slot the feet together, fixing with a dot of hot glue if necessary. Its quite self-explanatory when you look at the pictures…
3. Add some more hot glue onto the feet and place the stand top on, pressing firmly.
Not only do I love how easy these are to make but I like that you can customize them to suite your needs. If you have a simple stand you can make your cupcake decorations more involved. If your stand has a busy pattern then you can add a cupcake with minimal decorations. Since the holiday party season has begun you could easily make the stands to match the holiday you are celebrating!
Tis’ the season for baking and I have found just the right item to start off your Christmas baking.

When I was growing up I always loved when we had make-your-own ice cream sundaes at school. So naturally I loved the idea of a DIY Cupcake Topping Bar. This Build It cupcake bar was featured on Green Wedding Shoes and is based on a fall theme. I really love the idea of a topping bar because it allows guests to create their own unique cupcake!
For this cupcake bar, the cupcakes were frosted with a ring so that the toppings, which included syrups in vintage syrup dispensers, could be added to the whole in the middle. I especially liked the idea of using mini hallowed out pumpkins to serve as “bowls” for a toppings, such as sprinkles. The possibilities of toppings for cupcakes seem endless which means you could get really creative with what you put out for guest to top their cupcakes with.
Gobble Gobble stands for TURKEY!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I have found a great little tutorial on how to make some awesome little Turkey Cupcakes.
Thanksgiving Harvest: Turkey Cupcake on Top Party Ideas
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
What are you thankful for?!
Yes, I know it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet but cupcake Christmas ornaments are popping up everywhere! Our Facebook readers have been keeping me posted and I have also had many sightings myself. So far I have seen or heard of cupcake ornaments at Kohl’s, Walmart, Target, Hobby Lobby, JcPenney and Macy’s. Here are also I few more I found online today.
So have you had some sweet sightings? Leave us a link or tell us where you saw them!
We all know Christmas is coming and we are all making our lists for ourselves and what to get others. I have the perfect gift for any cupcake lover who want something a little bit different —
Pantone is a universal color system used by a variety of industries, mostly printing and graphics. This a good find for an graphic geek/cupcake geek like me!
Fondant snowflakes!
Now, why haven’t I thought of that?
I discovered these gorgeous photos at Maison Cupcake, a fun and fantastic blog about baking, desserts and party food!

Wow, cake mineral make-up, awesome! Great color choices, but I think I’d most likely wear Dark Ganache. Hmm, cake mineral eye liner would be awesome too! :)

I love the Coffee shade of eye shadow, and I would love to see shimmery/glittery lip glosses added to the site, perhaps with different flavors or all of them having a vanilla buttercream frosting flavor. :)
Congratulations! Please email your mailing address to [email protected]. Thanks to all who entered and to CAKE Mineral Makeup for sponsoring this awesome giveaway.
Indie Fixx is one of my favorite blogs, I can always count on it to find great crafts, style ideas, and recipes! Just in time for Thanksgiving, I noticed this unique cupcake recipe for squash and chocolate swirled cupcakes with orange cream cheese frosting and candied pecans. These cupcakes, as the author explains, will make a nice alternative to the traditional holiday dessert, pecan pie. The recipe for the cupcakes is included below but for the toppings be sure to check out the original post on Indie Fixx!
Note: Most any roasted pureed winter squash would be wonderful. You could, of course, used canned pumpkin but your homegrown buttercup, butternut, or other winter squash would be just as lovely. Read the rest of this entry »
One of our lovely sponsors, Cindy from Angel Heart Designs was recently featured in the Christmas edition of Romantic Homes. She talked about her new line of ceramics that is available on Etsy at Cynthia Joy Ceramics, it is vintage french-inspired decorations for your home.
She also talks about her husband of 32 years who is a source of on-going inspiration for her. As well as some of her most valuable possessions — her friends and family and her Lalique from her french in-laws.
Her cupcake night lights and cupcake trinket boxes are also featured in this article —
You can take a look at both of these items in Cindy’s shop.
Be sure to check out the full article when the magazine comes out in a few weeks.

If you stick bacon into a cornbread muffin and then add honey buttercream frosting, does it become a cupcake? Yes. It does. This particular bacon cornbread cupcake is enjoying the title of flavor of the month at Frosted Cupcakery in Los Angeles. And while this has nothing to do with bacon, Frosted Cupcakery offers a special service to all you romantics out there. They will artistically place your diamond ring in a cupcake’s frosting, and then giftwrap it for you. I, for one, cannot think of a better way to be asked.

Always in search of new cupcake wrappers I was excited to come across The Cupcake Wrapper Co. This company offers wrappers with varying designs in yellow, pink, green, blue, and red hues. Each packet includes 12 wrappers for $14.95. To top it off, the site offers a few additional cupcake decorating items, such as cupcake topper balloons.

I really like the red circus wrappers and the bunny tree wrapper. I personally like decorative wrappers because it means your frosting job can be more simple.
The holiday season is rapidly approaching faster than most of us know, and you bet your cupcakes that we all will have our ducks in a row the day after Thanksgiving to start decorating our Christmas trees, with cupcakes of course! If you are running low on cupcake ornaments I have found another great one for you. At first I thought these were real cupcake stand, but alas they aren’t, they are even better …
Any other fellow ‘Gleeks’ out there? Well myself and half of my co-workers are all gaga for Glee. When I saw these cupcakes I was totally in love!
I came across these at Whisk Upon a Star’s Facebook page. You can also follow them at their blog: Whisk Upon A Star.
What TV show would you love to see made into Cupcakes?
2011 is rapidly upon us and what better way to spend each month of the new year then with a cupcake calendar sprinkled with fun! This fun calendar is available on Monkey Mind Design’s Etsy site. The calendar costs $12.00 and each month has a different design and saying.
So if all of my fellow cupcake lovers haven’t noticed I haven’t been posting lately because of a tragic loss of BOTH of my computers. I’ve been without a computer for 2 weeks. But life has gotten a little but brighter because a laptop has magically appeared in my life. Okay, it wasn’t really magic, my amazing mother went to Wal-Mart at 8AM on Saturday morning to grab me this great deal on a computer. Thank you Mommy!
In honor of this momentous occasion I have decided to share a few laptop AND cupcake related items!

I love chocolate for several reasons; I love the richness of good, dark chocolate-you can be satisfied with just a bite. I love the play of it with other flavors-ginger, sea salt, wasabi, fruit, almost anything. And I love how much people enjoy it when I bake with chocolate-sending cookies to my brother away at college or bringing them to a friend struggling with midterms.
Chocolate is the most amazing thing. It can be sweet or savory. Simply sweet cupcakes or a heavenly cocoa crusted pork tenderloin. There is really nothing you can’t do with chocolate! Take a moment to enjoy some today and make your day simply sweet!

I dream of a chocolate river flowing silky smooth. Chocolate truffle bushes lining the powdery cocoa banks. With chocolate chunks and chips giving the chocolate pecan turtles a cozy place to rest. Fluffy chocolate peeps soaring through the sky while little chocolate butterflies flutter softly by. The sweet aroma of chocolate bliss fills the air. In my chocolate dreamworld I drift without a care. I see my chocolate paradise as am wide awake, when just a piece of chocolate is placed upon my plate.
