Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, I especially love seeing all the different, creative cupcakes people come up with.  My favorite Halloween cupcakes this year are the Kawaii Halloween cupcake toppers by Next to Nicx.  Instead of going with the traditional scary halloween monsters and ghoul, she chose to create really adorable little monsters, bats, and ghosts! The Next to Nicx website features detailed picture instructions and the downloadable template.

ATC Review: Women’s Cupcake Costume

Posted by on Wednesday, July 4th, 2012

Halloweencostumes.com offers a huge selection of costumes, including several cupcake costumes.  There are cupcake costumes for babies, kids, and adults, ranging in price from $21.99 to 51.99.  ATC was sent the Women’s Cupcake Costume to review.  The costume costs $42.99, and there’s a matching toddlers cupcake costume if you were looking to match your child!

The costume arrived very quickly after it had been shipped.  My first recommendation to anyone who buys this costume is to follow the first instruction as soon as you get it.  That means taking the costume out of the bag and hanging it up!  The costume definitely needs to be hung up so it can take shape and to get the wrinkles out.  I loved the bright pink tulle top and the fun turquoise bottom.  I also liked the multicolored sparkling sprinkles although from up close they do look like Band-Aids.  I have to admit I thought the costume, which is a size 4-10 was short.  I am 5’5” and the bottom of the costume was more than halfway up my thigh.  I think if I were to wear this costume outside my house I would buy the suggested matching fishnet tights or the knee-high legwarmers. More Halloween Cupcakes

Posted by on Saturday, October 29th, 2011

I just found these Halloween delights at a local bakery, The Bankery, in Skowhegan, Maine. The decorations are all done by hand, and all in frosting. Talk about talented! My son was thrilled, because I couldn’t bring myself to eat the spider, so he got the whole thing! The cat is my favorite, paws down! Happy Halloween!

Mummy Face Cupcakes

Last year we shared with you an idea from the authors of Hello Cupcake/Whats New Cupcake on how to create a mummy out of cupcakes.  For an alternative mummy cupcake Annie from With Sprinkles on Top offers the idea of making the cupcake faces look like mummies! She bought the eye from a local candy store but I’m sure white candy with a drop of chocolate will have the same effect!

Hidden Candy Corn Cupcakes

Posted by on Thursday, October 13th, 2011

Over the past few years we here at ATC have shared several candy corn cupcake ideas.  We started with the idea of dying the cupcake batter yellow and orange and layering them to look like a candy corn.  The next year we showed you that you could take any cupcake and frost it to look like a candy corn by piping white, yellow, and orange frosting on top. This year we take it one step further, dark chocolate cupcakes with a candy corn inside!  The Sugar Turntable came up with the fun and festive idea, as she says in her description, the dark chocolate cupcake combined with the candy corn colors just screams fall and Halloween!

The directions for how to make these awesome cupcakes are included in her original post but while at the website check out her other Halloween tutorials.  The tutorials include  instructions for the fun boneyard cupcakes shown to the right, would you believe marshmallows and pretzels are used to make them?
