Cute Elephant Cupcakes
Posted by cupcakeSerenity on Monday, July 30th, 2012I’m not sure why I find these elephant cupcakes so adorable. Maybe because I recently visited the Indianapolis Zoo, and I couldn’t stop staring at the baby elephant? He was just too cute! And so are these cupcakes. Cute, yet simple enough to feasibly create. At least, I’m going to try. These were created by All You Need is Cupcakes, a cupcakery in Argentina. Cupcakes are taking over the world!
Cupcake Mosaic Sets a World Record
Posted by CandidCupcake on Sunday, July 29th, 2012
A new Guinness World Record was set today in Singapore for the world’s largest cupcake mosaic. A whopping 20,000 cupcakes formed the mosaic, which beat the previous record of 5,900 cupcakes by quite a lot! The mosaic was created to help benefit under privileged youths and low-income families.
Who gets to eat all these cupcakes, you’re probably wondering? The cupcakes were adopted by donors and sent to homes for the elderly, disabled and children.

Cupcakes in a Jar
Posted by CandidCupcake on Wednesday, July 25th, 2012These cupcakes in a jar make me want to eat a cupcake really badly! Something about seeing the different layers makes them even more appetizing than they already are, and Mason jars seem to be the really “in” thing right now.

Eyelash Cupcakes
Posted by cupcakeSerenity on Monday, July 23rd, 2012Deeming these “eyelash cupcakes” sounds a little gross, but I’m sure they’re delicious. What I can’t figure out though, is how did she make those eyelashes? Are they edible? Any guesses? Are any of you fondant eyelash experts? Lizzies_cakes added this photo to Flickr today. Happy 21st to the lucky cupcake recipient!

Back to School
Posted by CandidCupcake on Thursday, July 19th, 2012OK, so maybe it’s still a tad bit early to start thinking about going back to school, but this is a pretty cute idea, and it doesn’t hurt to get started a little early. Go grab the supplies at your nearest Michael’s and plan a day to make these cupcakes. You could also make the cupcake stand to go with them if you’re feeling extra crafty. Maybe it will get your kids excited about the upcoming school year!
Cupcake Buttons
Posted by stayhomecupcake on Thursday, July 19th, 2012I have been buying and selling on Etsy for several years and everyday I am amazed by the skill of the many crafters there. Today I have to share with you one of the best polymer play artists I have ever seen. Check out these amazing cupcake buttons by Ayarina Designs. Wouldn’t they look perfect with something sewn in the cupcake fabric I shared in this post a few week ago?
Pinterest Cupcake Fails
Posted by hungry runner on Thursday, July 19th, 2012I am a huge fan of Pinterest but at times I find my self clicking that “repin” and “like” buttons a little too much. I have so many baked goods pins right now there is no way I will ever get around to making them all! I have started to wonder with all the pins going around if things actually work, do the instructions for the DIY projects produce homemade items that look like the pictures? Do the recipes turn out to be as awesome as they look? I found Pintrosity, which claims that not all pins work out the way we hope they would.
The original pin, which I even have saved to my cupcake board, tells you to “Bake cupcakes for 5 minutes and then drop a Hershey Kiss in the center and continue baking. It sinks to the middle and makes a chocolate center!” According to Pintrosity, the cupcakes failed miserably. Years ago I made the red velvet cupcakes from Woman’s Day magazine that called for Hershey’s kisses in the batter before baking. When I saw the kisses in cupcakes idea on Pinterest I thought back to these cupcakes and how the kiss turned out hard. I thought the shortened baking time would help make the kiss soft and melty but Pintrosity says otherwise. Has anyone else tried these cupcakes? Did you end up with a chocolate center or a hard piece of chocolate? Any other Pinterest cupcake fails our there?
Strawberry Butterfly Cupcakes
Posted by cupcakeSerenity on Thursday, July 19th, 2012Oh my, the thought of white chocolate and strawberries is almost more than I can bear right now. Ombre Effect Vanilla Cupcakes
Posted by hungry runner on Wednesday, July 18th, 2012I love the ombre effect trend that is popular right now! Between the celebrity hair styles and the Pinterest DIY ideas the ombre effect seems to be everywhere! Even stores like The Container Store have jumped on board with their ombre colored crunch cans! Somewhere Splendid definitely knows what’s popular right now! They blogged about how to make ombre effect vanilla cupcakes! You obviously don’t have to make your cupcakes blue like the picture, you can choose any color you like! These would be very cute for a baby shower!
Target Cupcake School Supplies
Posted by hungry runner on Monday, July 16th, 2012I have always loved back to shopping; there is something about starting off the school year with all new products that I enjoyed. On a quick trip to Target over the weekend I found several cupcake items in their back to school section! There are dollar cupcake notebooks, composition journals, and folders. I also spotted two cute little cupcake coin purses that are also only $1.00. There was a pack of pencil erasers which included cupcakes for $1.99.
Ice Cream Cupcakes
Posted by CandidCupcake on Sunday, July 15th, 2012Most of us probably agree that ice cream is a wonderful summer treat. And of course, all of us agree that cupcakes are a wonderful treat no matter what season it is. So, what better combination than a Sugary Sweet Ice Cream Cupcake? These look extremely easy, and I love how you could do a number of toppings or different ice cream flavors to change things up a bit.
