Cupcake Cuff

Posted by on Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Cupcake CuffDon’t you just love the new design? It looks amazing! I am super excited to be blogging again, while we were away, I got to scout out some awesome new items! Check out this Cupcake Cuff! In Hope is an amazing seamstress and this cuff is only $10.00.

“I just felt like making some cuffs this week because my arm have felt naked. This one is made out of bright red vinyl with a stitched on vinyl cupcake. I also sewed industrial style pink Velcro to keep this bracelet closed. It is about 8 inches long and about 2 inches in the middle most wide part. The inside of this cuff is a light pink felt so you wont get a sweaty wrist. This cuff would fit most girls.”

Her banner even has cupcakes, how cool is that!

All Things Cupcake is All New! I am working on some changes right now, but what do you think?? More things will be added momentarily.

As most of you know, I run my own web design business called Cuppycake Designs however, for this site I wanted something a little different.. so I asked Gis to help me create something “cupcakey” and well.. she did just that! Thanks :)

Toy Flashback

Posted by on Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

If you were born in the 80’s or earlier, maybe you remember Cupcakes dolls? I do! They were cute little girls wearing big frilly gowns and bonnets, each uniquely scented like a different confection. When you flipped their underside out, they turned into cupcakes! These little dolls are quite the collectors items, only available second hand and places like ebay. A quick search unearthed a number of fan sites boasting huge collections of these scented 90’s treasures- my favorite being this one!

All this digging lead me to another cupcake related toy from the late 80’s- Cherry Merry Muffin!

Now I DEFINITELY remember this one! I wanted to collect them all :) It looks like the cupcake crazy isn’t quite a new thing- Cherry Merry had created quite the empire back 20 years ago. Check out MerryMuffinLand.net for some very comprehensive info on the toy classic and all her friends (who could forget Chocolottie and Penny Peppermint?)

The Coffee Cupcake Hero

Posted by on Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

This round of Cupcake Hero was dedicated to one of my favorite things in the world, coffee. Actually, 2 things I love in this world, as my hubs, Jaos, picked the theme in honor of his birthday.

Ladies came from far and wide to bake in honor of Jaos’ birthday. Well, I don’t know about far and wide, but they sent the entries to me via email alright.

When all was said and done, a new Cupcake Hero was chocsen. And her cupcake is one of the best cupcakes I have ever eaten.

Congrats to Molly of Batter-Splattered and her Mocha Cupcakes with Walnuts. This recipe is a MUST try. It really is a fantastic chocolate cupcake. Its even better if you let them take a rest over night. Yum. You can check out the rest of the delish coffee cupcake entries here.

Cupcake Love & Diapers

Posted by on Sunday, January 27th, 2008

I did not notice this nor did I do this on purpose but, my daughters diapers have cupcakes on them.. and yes, I’m serious!

Staying in theme with the recent post about cupcake things at Target, this is my daughter also not willing to share her cupcake pillow with others.

How to say "Cupcake" in doggy?

Posted by on Sunday, January 27th, 2008

Our little family has recently, blessedly, been expanded– in a canine fashion. We have been made the, very proud, parent’s of a six week old dachshund puppy. Barrett came into our life in the midst of tragedy, his little mother passed away, and therefore he and his brothers and sisters had to be adopted out. He is at such a very young age that we have to take special precautions that he doesn’t get too cold in these arctic temperatures. So he wears sweaters. I can not rave enough about the benefits of dressing him warmer. He is so much more content and I worry so much less. Something simple like this cute cupcake sweater from Modern Tales is not only adorable, but practical. The only thing not quite so practical is the price tag, at $62.95, its a little too rich for my blood. However, the inspiration is priceless. I know that when I learn to either crochet or knit I will make my way to these free pattern and then customize something cuppycakey for my lil’ guy (in more manly colors, of course ;)

My Lil’ Cupcake

Posted by on Sunday, January 27th, 2008

A week ago (or more, I’ve completely lost track of time), Jess suggested we get ourselves over to Target for, well, all things cupcake. I did just that – and here are just some of the results. My 4-month old daughter, Adaline, shown here sporting a cupcake bib and an unwillingness to share her giant cupcake pillow – and my new dishtowels which make me oh-so-happy ever time I walk into my kitchen. It’s the little things that make me smile … thanks, Jess!

Cupcake Crafts & A Contest!

Posted by on Saturday, January 26th, 2008

I wanted to post something a little different from just shopping cupcake items so I opened up google and did a search for “cupcake crafts tutorial”. The items that I came up with were simply amazing. That there to your left might look like your ordinary crocheted cupcake, but its so much more!

It is an actual crocheted cupcake. Inside of it, is a yogurt container. Isn’t that amazing!

“I came up with these cupcake containers as a multi-purpose gift this past Christmas.

Each “cup” is formed around a yogurt container, with chenille “cake” and “sprinkles” on top.

I filled each one with jewelry, lip gloss, and other fun trinkets.

They’re a great way to re-use yogurt cups and finish off yarn scraps. “

You can find the whole tutorial here.

EternalSunshine is having a Valentine’s give away and all you have to do is comment on this post by February 1st and one lucky commenter will win one of these amazing crocheted cupcakes!

If you would rather purchase one, you can do so at her Etsy Shop. She has red velvet and chocolate, each adorned with some adorable heart buttons!
