Ahhhhhaarrggh mee hearties!  Der’ is treasure to be found in Debbie Does Cakes Flickr photo stream, that is to be sure!  She creates some of the most amazing cakes and cupcakes that I have ever seen and these gold laden pirate cupcakes are no different!  I love the mix of skulls, flags, maps, rum and best of all the treasure chests!

Oh and I love her vomiting pumpkin cake!  Tis sensational!

It’s that time of year when the catalogs arrive daily.  One of the catalogs that came this week was Mindare: brainy toys for kids of all ages. I noticed two cupcake related items; Tasty Science allows you to satisfy your sweet tooth in the name of science! With this kit that costs $19.95, you explore the principles of chemistry through baking cupcakes, cookies, candy and more.

A second cupcake related item is called Cook It In A Cup.  For $16.95 you receive six nonstick silicone baking cups and 29 recipes for individually sized treats.

The latest issue of The Food Network Magazine arrived earlier this week.  Inside there was a section of different wrapping papers for the holiday season.  One wrapping paper was called Cupcakes and Chocolates available from Whimsy Press.  The 24”x36” sheet costs $4.50 and the website offers a matching matchbook cover note pad for $8.00.

Amigurumi (編みぐるみ) is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals. I see Amigurumi a lot at craft shows, but I have never seen examples as cute as these!

Today we are featuring a stunning cupcake tattoo sent in to us from Sherri.

This cupcake tattoo is super bright and colorful.  It features a vanilla cupcake in a pink wrapper and blue frosting.  The dagger through the centre is candy cane with a green ring pop hilt.  Laced with flowers, cherries, a lollypop and shoelace licorice ribbons this cupcake tattoo is exceptionally designed and takes up most of the inside of Sherri’s forearm.

Sherri’s tattoo was drawn and inked by Teresa Sharpe at Studio 13 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Always in search of new cupcake wrappers I was excited to come across The Cupcake Wrapper Co. This company offers wrappers with varying designs in yellow, pink, green, blue, and red hues. I was perusing Etsy the other day when I stumbled upon Geneva Designs. This is a great little business with lots of homemade good such as vintage aprons, kids styled aprons, sewing kits and hot pads.  But it was these adorable cupcake ones that they have just loaded onto Flickr that grabbed my attention!  I love how bright and fun they are!

Given Christmas is only just around the corner, my eyes are alert for the best Xmas bargains I can find.  These would be perfect for any baker or cupcake maker!  You can never have too much in the way of hot pots or hand towels especially if they are covered in cupcakes or, as the second ones are, the tools of the trade.

I can’t seem to get enough of Etsy! I love the creative items and the sellers! My sister is owed the credit for finding this Cupcake Cuties Candle Holder. What TV show would you love to see made into Cupcakes?

Last week Oh Joy! Eats posted this great combination of cupcake related items. My favorite item out of the six is definitely the cupcake measuring cups available from Urban Outfitters.  The 1 cup, 1/2 cup, and 1/3 cup measurements are the bases that look like wrappers.  Then my favorite part is that the icing doubles as the 1/4 cup measurement!  They are only $18.00 which would make them a great, under $20.00 holiday gift.

2011 is rapidly upon us and what better way to spend each month of the new year then with a cupcake calendar sprinkled with fun! This fun calendar is available on Monkey Mind Design’s Etsy site.  The calendar costs $12.00 and each month has a different design and saying.

So if all of my fellow cupcake lovers haven’t noticed I haven’t been posting lately because of a tragic loss of  BOTH of my computers. I’ve been without a computer for 2 weeks.
