I just wanted to share this post from the Muddy’s Bake Shop Blog…

In 2007, large toy manufacturers who outsource their production to China etc, sold toys with high lead content, unsafe parts, and made from dangerous chemicals. In response, Congress passed the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) , which among other things, mandates third-party testing and certification for all toys. This testing will be easy for large corporations who churn out thousands of each toy a year.

However, the way the current act is written, it puts most small toy-making businesses out of business. All the Etsy sellers, crafts fair artisans, etc in America would also have to pay the $300-$4,000 fee for third-party testing for EACH toy that they make. This makes the crafts-fair toymaker extinct while Mattel and Bratz prosper.

Cupcakz are a bath bomb “cake” with a whipped soap “frosting”. While these cupcakes are nothing new, Milk and Cookeez have made them their own. The bath cupcake recipe uses 4 skin nourishing ingredients in the base, shea butter, sea salt, Epsom salt, and finally organic whole milk (also found in our bath fizzies), among the other necessary ingredients to make a bath bomb.  The “frosting” is a whipped soap a natural shea m&p soap mixture, and fragrance.

i was just reading your cupcake blog and you have a little story on the petite cafe. yes their cupcakes are good, and i frequent there up until about a year ago i stumbled upon a real cupcake gem, just 5 minutes away from them. it’s called joe’s java, and they have some of the best cupcakes i’ve ever had. the owner really takes her time when it comes to cupcakes. not only to they have cupcakes they have a coffee called cupcake and a hot drink called “the nikki cupcake”. they donate cupcakes to a lot of local events too. to top it off their cupcakes are $2 each!

Cupcake Stuff at Kohl’s

Love your site.  I am obsessed with finding cupcakes now and this is my first entry to you all!  I found these at Kohl’s department store. Photo 0341 is two dishtowels and 0373 are placemats.  They also has a table runner but I had to stop somewhere!  Thanks.

RockerJewlz and the Green Glass Café have combined artistic forces to create the most incredible line of lampwork glass cupcakes to date!  Julie Vallejo and Payton Jett have shared their passion for glass art the past 2 years and it has evolved into an artistic chemistry that has resulted in a magical bond.

Due to their love of all things cupcake, Julie, a jewelry designer, began to request custom cupcakes of Payton, wondering if her imagination could become reality.  Payton, a glass artisan, accepted any and all challenges presented to her, teaching Julie about the intriguing properties of glass along the way.  Payton knew how glass tended to move and morph beneath her torch’s intense flame but even with that knowledge,  she was still always in awe as to what the glass would reveal to her when lifted from its cooled oven.

This mysterious quality convinced Payton she must never assume what results would form and thus reveled in the thrill of playing with glass requests from artists like Julie, who would take her inspiration and draw it on paper and tweak the design with Payton until they agreed on the finest detail of color, shape, size, harmony and contrast.

With these limitless edges of imagination, these two artists have in a sense created a marriage of passion and dedication to discovering the next best thing in glass and therefore, custom jewelry design.  It is a rare gift for these two artisans to have found such partnership and a gift to share.
