When it came time for the city of Myrtle Beach to celebrate its 75^th anniversary, they decided they wanted to do it with cupcakes. 7,500 cupcakes to be exact. Katherine Berman and Sophie LaMontagne of Georgetown Cupcakes and TLC’s DC Cupcakes collaborated with the city of Myrtle Beach to not only bake more than 7,500 cupcakes, they planned a cupcake tower to rival all those that came before. And just this week, their achievement was confirmed. The cupcake tower created to celebrate Myrtle Beach’s 75^th anniversary is now officially the Guinness World Record holder for Tallest Tower of Cupcakes at 20 feet and 5 inches tall. No longer does the cake pop have to take side stage to the mother of cakes (i.e. the standard every day cake), nor does it need to step aside for it’s biggest brother (the cupcake) or it’s big sister (the mini cupcake).  No, finally, today is the day that cake pops can take centre stage. Everyone seems to be busy doing something for, or thinking about the upcoming event next Monday… that is Valentines Day.  For me I am not too sure what to do, I will have to get my fiance a card, but I don’t love all that soppy love stuff, it is right for some people, but not for me, so I think I am going to get a blank card with some amazing scenery on the front, and inside will write something alluding to our past travels and our future travels inside it…
