Football Cupcakes from Crumbs

By on Thursday, January 26th, 2012

So many people ask me what my favorite bakery is and I always have to answer Crumbs! I love their huge, overly sweet treats. They do tend to be a bit pricey but to me, they so worth it.   And even if you don’t live close to a Crumbs, they will deliver. They have a variety of shipping options but the cheapest is  UPS ground shipping for about $20 (plus the cost of the cupcakes).  They come delivered in an insulated container with dry ice.  Check out these football cupcakes- great for the party that has a mix of Giants and Patriots fans.

What is it about Hostess cupcakes?

By on Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

Hostess Snack Cakes.  Gotta love their cupcakes.  Golden.  Chocolate.  Orange.  Fondant-y icing.  Seven, white squiggles down the middle.  Vanilla creme frosting in the middle.  Wrapped in plastic.  Mass producted.

Hostess is big business.  Hostess Brands, which owns Hostess Snack Cakes, employs 21,000 people in 39 bakeries in 41 states across the U.S.A.  (In case you’re interested:  they’re hiring.)

Hostess is still celebrating its February 2011 launch of the strawberry cupcake, so it’s not too late for you to vote for your favorite Hostess cupcake and get a chance to win $25,000 and other, daily prizes.

According to the Hostess Director of Marketing, “Hostess sets the standard for timeless treats that are loved from generation to generation.”  So just how many Hostess cupcakes do Americans eat every year?  600,000,000.  And it’s Memphis, Tennessee that’s the Hostess cupcake eating capital of the Hostess empire.

Giant Cupcake Holder

By on Saturday, May 14th, 2011

I must say that cupcakes are one of the hardest baked goods to transport. They have to be separated individually so they frosting doesn’t get ruined and its really hard to stack cupcakes one on top of the other without ending up with smashed cupcakes! As we all know there are tons of different types of cupcake holders out there to fix this dilemma. But I must say that this is the most creative one that I have seen and the most fun.

These come in two different colors and can be found at the Food Network Store.

Cupcake Calender

By on Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

Happy New Year everyone! And we all know what a new year means … finding the right calender! I have been lost at work without a new calender, luckily I bought one and am not so lost. I wish I had found this calender before I had gone and purchased one in town.

2011 Cupcake Calendar – Sprinkled with Fun from Monkey Mind Design’s etsy shop

Each month has a cute design and an even cuter saying about cupcakes. My favorite is April (my birthday month) “A cupcake a day, keeps the sweet tooth away!” They also sell a Mini Cupcake Calender as well.
