Mickey Mouse Cupcakes
By hungry runner on March 1st, 2011 . Filed under: Cupcake Ideas, Decorating, Kids .I love these Mickey Mouse Cupcakes that Sweet Tooth replicated from a flickr photo. I actually like Sweet Tooth’s version, which has no fondant better because while I like the look of fondant I think Oreo’s taste better! These cupcakes are actually really easy since Mickey’s bottom shorts consist of the red cupcake liner with two white circles glued on. Click on “continue reading” for the rest of the instructions.
1 box cake mix
1 can frosting
1 package regular oreos
Toothpicks
Red cupcake liners
Punches from a whole-puncher
– Bake cupcakes according to package’s instructions
– Allow to cool, and frost cupcakes, trying to create a rounded shape
– In a food processor, crush 1 row of cookies (I only made 3 of these cupcakes, so I’m not sure of the actual number of cookies needed for a whole batch of 24)
– Dip each cupcake in the cookie crumbs, making sure to cover all of the frosting
– Use a small cookie cutter to punch out smaller oreos
– Stick a toothpick in each small oreo, and then into the cupcakes accordingly
– Glue 2 white whole-punched circles on the front of each cupcake liner

I’m not sure why but this site is loading incredibly slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a problem on my end? I’ll check back later on and see if the problem still exists.

These are awesome! I’m going to try doing these for my daughter’s 3rd birthday party in December. I’ve already found the red cupcake liners and the store also had pink with white poka dots, so I’m going to do Mickey and Minnie. I can’t wait to see how these turn out!

They also make mini oreos that come in a bag so you dont have to punch them out of bigger ones
