Design Sponge Cupcake Recipes
By hungry runner on Friday, November 20th, 2009Sometimes I get overwhelmed by all the recipes there are out there because I want to make all of them and I know I will never have enough time to do so. While looking around Design Sponge I quickly had dozens of tabs open with all of the recipes I wanted to try. The “In the Kitchen with” section is loaded with recipes and photography that looks amazing. In the Kitchen with Sarah Magid includes the recipe for dark chocolate cupcakes with espresso whipped buttercream and hand-sculpted sugar flowers. The recipe comes from Magid’s book: Organic and Chic and the blog post kindly includes a video on how to make the sugar flowers.
I can’t help but want to try White Cake Supreme Cupcakes by Looolo, a textile designer, when the description claims that they are fun and easy to make!
I had never heard of Enjoy Cupcakes, a cute little cupcakery located in California. Design Sponge has beautiful pictures of the location, making me wish even more that I lived in California.
There are lots more cupcake related posts on Design Sponge, that I couldn’t possibly include them all in this post. Which is why I encourage you to check out the website, it seems to have so much more to offer then just cupcakes.
Cheesecake Cupcakes!
By HeatherLynn on Thursday, November 19th, 2009My roommates birthday was today and I asked her what kind of cupcakes she wanted for her birthday and she said, ” Cheesecake!!” and I said, “I can make that happen!” … So I made my famous cheesecake into mini cakes!
Grocery List
- 2 eight oz packages of cheesecake
- lemon juice
- raspberry jam
- Nilla Wafers
- mini chocolate chips
From your Cupboards
- Sugar & Eggs
And GO!
Heat the oven to 325 degrees, find yourself 12 cupcake liners and place them into a cupcake pan! Take vanilla wafer and put one in the bottom of each liner. And then add a sprinkle of chocolate chips on top of the wafer. In a bowl add the cream cheese, 2 eggs, 2/3 cup of sugar and 3 tablespoons lemon juice. Mix until smooth and there are no lumps. Disperse evenly into the cupcake liners. Place a spoonful of raspberry jam on-top of each of the cheesecakes and then add another sprinkle of the chocolate chips as well. Place in oven for about 30-35 minutes. After they are done cooking leave in cupcake pan until they have cooled all the way through and then place in fridge over night.
And ENJOY!
I brought them to work for my roomie and for everyone to enjoy and the went over very well. One of my co-workers said it was very satisfying.
Here is a photo!

Words of Love
By stayhomecupcake on Thursday, November 19th, 2009Sometimes I want to open my front door wide and shout, “I love cupcakes!” For the sake of my neighbors (and my husband) I have found a few ways this week that I can show my love for our sweet little friends using the words of some crafty Etsy sellers.
Cupcake Arrrt by Jessica
By hungry runner on Wednesday, November 18th, 2009This weekend I came across Arrrt by Jessixa which has some unique cupcake illustrations. These very different images fall under the “Robots” category on the website. I would have to say that my favorite one is titled”Want.” Which is of a robot looking inside himself and seeing a cupcake where a heart would be. I also like “In Deep” because the robot looks like it is wearing moon shoes but it’s actually cupcakes. There are several more cupcake images on the website and her contact information is also provided.

By HeatherLynn on Tuesday, November 17th, 2009As I was picking up the mail yesterday I found one of my Favorite Catalogs in my mail box, The Lakeside Collection . I love this catalog but I loved this one even more. The whole front cover is advertising all cupcake items!
This is what the cover looks like;

The 2 items that are on the front cover are these 2 items …

Sephora Vanilla Cupcake Body Collection
By hungry runner on Tuesday, November 17th, 2009If you not only love the taste of vanilla cupcakes but also the smell then you will enjoy Sephora’s Vanilla Cupcake Body Collection. The collection includes dry oil, body wash, bubble bath, and body scrub with prices ranging from $8-$16. The scent was originally part of the gift package for members and had a cupcake image on the bubble bath container. It was so popular that they added it as one of their Sephora brand lines.
