Cupcake Help!

Hi.  I am having an issue with the tops of my cupcakes having a crispier edge than the rest of the cupcake.  Is this common?  Normal?  I hate it!

    My first thought is that you are over-baking them. If that is not it, then they might be too big (sides overflowing and getting crispy) or the pan itself might be the problem. Or maybe the recipe is the culprit – lots of butter in the batter could cause that. Keep trying – good luck!
