Bliss boutique bakery in Chapel Hill, NC just opened Jan 31. We tried three: chocolate with chocolate gauche, vanilla with chocolate butter cream and vegan pumpkin chocolate chip. there was three of us and amazingly each of us thought a different one was the best! I favored the vegan.

The Blue Cake Company – This adorable cake company has great cupcakes with assorted frostings at all times, and sometimes they have gourmet ones such as chocolate cupcake with chocolate mousse dipped in chocolate ganache. They also have assorted petit fours, bars, and slices of cake. My favorite is the vanilla cake with Blueberry cream cheese frosting (and filling!) with white chocolate shavings. Yummmmmy!

There are a lot of people using mixes and freezing stuff, but Carolina Cupcakery is my favorite, not only because they bake from scratch every day, but because I have wheat allergies and my boyfriend is diabetic and there, we can both enjoy the stuff everyone ele gets to eat! And their gluten-free stuff is the same price as their regular… they also ship unfrosted cupcakes.

The first real cupcake specialty shop in Houston was Sugarbaby’s Cupcake Boutique. They opened in the summer of 2007. You gotta see (and taste) this place. Our favorites by far compared to other places in the city. My kids have been hooked since they opened. It’s such a treat for the whole family. Real “from-scratch” recipes, they do lots of custom orders, have a nice sized dining area, gift boutique and an adorable party room. A must-go in Houston. It’s like Alice in Wonderland with extra sugar.
I saw Sprinkles on your list for Houston, but we don’t have one open here yet.

Sugar Monkey CUpcakes, in Naperville is amazing! The cupcakes are delicious, the owner is very nice and the store is very cute (pink and brown)! I have also been to Molly’s Cupcakes and they are very good, but by far Sugar Monkey Cupcakes is better.

While I don’t live in NJ, right now, I do visit with relatives there, and there is ONE place that the entire family, friends, and neighbors always head to, and that is Sweet Avenue Bake Shop! They have such a wonderful selection of flavors and what beautiful gourmet cupcakes, and so mouthwatering!! I’m drooling right now thinking about them!! But they are by far the BEST cupcakes I have ever tasted. I traveled through quite a few states and been to other cupcake shops, but they don’t even come close to the absolute deliciousness of Sweet Avenue Bake Shop. They have a special Mystery Cupcake every Friday and a new and special Cupcake of the Month too, every month! I don’t know how they do it, but they do, lucky NJ!!

Sibby’s Cupcakery in San Mateo, CA puts Sprinkles and Kara’s TO SHAME! Not only are the cupcakes absoutely delicious, but she uses locally produced ingredients when possible (which I love) and can do any fabulous design scheme you request. I have been a long time customer and will continue making my treks for her little wonders. FYI: there is no storefront, everything is made to order, which is even better to me since it ensures freshness.

LeSoho Cupcakes, located in Jakarta Indonesia.
I tried lots of cupcakes in Jakarta.. most of them look nice, but the taste werent so good.
But this one (LeSoho Cupcakes), they have a simple and elegant design, and the taste is heavenly!
The best cupcake I ever had here in Jakarta.

As for the frostings…they were a subtle sweet and very light…not heavy like those sweet chalky like frostings. I’ve ordered from them 3 times now and consistently delish!!!

Sweet Debbi’es organic cupcakes in Los Angeles, CA offers organic, vegan, sugar-free cupcakes that are out-of-this world!
They also have gluten-free cupcakes if you would like to order those, which are baked in a dedicated kitchen. I’ve had both the regular and gluten-free versions and you can’t go wrong with either.

Hello!
Located on Pitt St, in Sydney, Australia, is a little shop called Cupcakes on Pitt. There’s a beautifully decorated shop-front window, with paper lanterns and beautifully presented row upon row of tiny, shiny cupcakes! They’re the perfect size (not too large and filling, not too small) and decorated with gleaming swirls of buttercream icing. The little Parisian-style display cabinet/window is currently set with a five-tier stand loaded with vanilla-based cupcakes, iced with pale pink buttercream and garnished with edible silver decorations, silk orchids and tiny bunches of paper roses (and a handful of glitter sprinkled about, to boot!).
My personal favourite flavours are Strawberry on Vanilla base and the Apricot (delicious with chunks of apricot baked right into the base!) but I can’t resist getting a 12-pack every time I visit :)
If you’re visiting beautiful Sydney, stop by this darling little shop- I hear they also have a shop on York St in Sydney CBD!

There is a great place in Brentwood, California (about 45 minutes east of San Francisco) named Mary’s Delicacies. They have delicious and adorable cakes and cupcakes. My family is a fan of Reno so on an excursion to Reno from the bay area we decided to try Batch Cupcakery. Wow! Were we impressed.. the cake was delish!! I love these girls, I love their cupcakes, I love their super cute location! I highly recommend the delicious, homemade-tasting cupcakes at Brown Betty’s Dessert Boutique in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia (http://www.brownbettydesserts.com). I’ve been tasting cupcakes all over the area, and these are the tops! Continuing with the Betty theme, the (unrelated) bakery Betty’s Speakeasy Artisan Confections (http://bettysfudge.com/) makes some very creative cupcakes as well, for which it was just voted Best of Philly. They also sell their cupcakes online. The slightly less snazzy but similarly tasty shop It’s a Cupcake is also trying to make a mark (http://itsacupcake.com/). There’s another place specializing in cupcakes in Jenkintown, PA called Velvet Sky Bakery, but I haven’t made it there yet (http://www.velvetskybakery.com). I am from Northwest NJ. And believe it or not, this cute little Bakery/Cafe I have passed by on the road for no lie, 21 years. It is a cute small little building that sits off a major road. The parking almost seems like you need to park in a resident’s driveway so I never bothered. For the 1st time in 21 years I was introduced to the cupcakes there and they are absolutely out of this world! My favorite is the Amaretto flavored rolled in almonds. I love this place! It is not a huge Bakery, but the things I had here are out of this world! a must! located on Rt 206 Andover, NJ (by traffic light @ Limecrest Rd)
