Teenager spreads hope to children in need

Bake sales and recycling are common fundraising tactics in middle school. But Tara Suri wasn’t baking cupcakes for just any common cause. Her cause was hope, literally…. So she started H.O.P.E., or Helping Orphans Pursue Education. The organization aims to give kids the opportunity to achieve their full potential with the basics, like a sturdy roof over their heads, that Tara and her friends sometimes took for granted back in Scarsdale, New York.

He told me there were always nasty grocery store lookin’ cupcakes on the catering tables but today he proved it. He also proved that even big sweaty wrestlers can’t resist a sweet cupcake. When they can’t convince Americans that having fewer choices is a better deal, paper-pushing paternalists get crafty. Unable to take “unhealthy” snacks away, nanny legislators have put their heads together and produced a list of ways to deter us from cheeseburgers and cupcakes: fat taxes, in-your-face calorie counts—even weight limits for eating at restaurants.

These homemade vehicles are crafted by Silicon Valley nerds (including one engineer from Tesla Motors) and Burning Man enthusiasts in a Berkeley, California, warehouse. In today’s episode, Xeni joins the marauding muffineers for a 15-mph thrillride down mean, sugar-sprinkled streets.
